is the structure in the background, superimposed with the Chinese-American architect, I.M.Pei’s, ultra - modern glass structure design to be called the Louvre Pyramid, completed in 1988. There is a fountain surrounding the main entrance and three smaller pyramids that serve as seating around the fountains. The structure seen in photo is the entrance admission area and lowers levels of the museum collections.
This perspective appealed to me as a photographer. The light dabbles into the interior of the glass, but can be also seen from outside. The juxtaposition of the structures, the reflections in the water, the contrast in color with the boldness in the graphic lines, along with what the cultural story tells, was the perspective I saw when photographing this travel scene. The crowd behind is noticed, but not a distraction. 12-13th century building, architectural is Gothic.
